I've been cookin and taking pics, but not posting. Sometimes life gets in the way. The gutters are cleaned out, the flower beds have been weeded & mulched and the patio has been washed off.
I bribed the fam into helping me over the weekend by cooking some good food. I brined some BSCB's in a basic brine (brown sugar, kosher salt and a handful of peppercorns) for a couple of hours, then rinsed & dried them before adding some Penzey's Forward and Cavender's Greek seasoning. Let 'em sit while I tried to cut a bloomin' onion (Mr. Lampe - I could use a quick lesson on how to cut one so it doesn't fall apart!) and got the grill going with 2/3 chimney of KBlue and some cherry wood.
Here are the crash hots just before going into the oven. Since I worked all day in the yard, I really didn't feel like cooking on two grills, so into the oven they went. I like 'em much better from the grill, but they are still awesome from the oven.
Here's the whole crew on the grill. Notice my attempt to save the falling apart bloomin' onion. It was still very good, but I had to finish it in my grill pan over direct heat.
Here are the chicks, resting for a few minutes while I got some Romaine salad together.
Here's your plate. Easy, delicious and a healthy meal too. Enjoy!
