Is this worth the money ?

IDK. Depends on buyer's motivations, and quality of the "resto". Honestly it doesn't look up to a Jon or Bruce quality job

A lot of corners cut on that one. It doesn't show well in my opinion even though he sandblasted the cook box.
In my opinion, he did not blast the cookbox.
What makes you think he did ?
Look at the tank scale, terrible.
The cookbox inside looks way to shinny for sandblasting.

Yeah, most of it doesn't look too good. The exception being the inside of the cook box. I can't get one that clean without sandblasting and I will spend a long time on one, too long.

No sandblasting was ever mentioned.
WOW, I don't feel a bit embarrassed asking a grand for mine😤

I corresponded with this guy a couple months ago, he's definitely a corner cutter😉
I asked him about something he had for sale on Marketplace and in the conversation, he said he was going to restore a Genesis 5000.
This guy's a real piece a work 😁

Not sure what I think about the firebox. If he did grind it out, it was either not bad to start with or he went all out on that part vs some of the other things others have faulted.

When him and I were messaging one another, he commented that he cleans all his cookboxes by hand, no sandblasting.
It looked to shinny to have been blasted.
I laughed when he told me some of the things he did to save money on refurbishing grills 🤣

Never say never, as a fool is born every minute. However, the seller would be very fortunate to receive a little over half of his asking price. Doès it have cooking grates? If so, what and are they? For the record... the fire box appears to be blasted to me. I have never seen one that clean otherwise.
