Is this a good buy?

It looks like it has wood handles, and that's desirable amoung Weber fans. You can buy that BBQ new for just under $100
If I were looking for a kettle, I'd buy that before buying new

I just went over and looked at it and told the guy I'd take it off his hands but wouldn't want to pay for it. It needs some work but don't know if it's worth it, which is what I told him. He said take it, so I did; don't have much to loose when it's free. It's missing a couple things and has a couple minor dents/dings. The ash tray is missing and the lower inside vent is gone (don't know proper terminology for this but I'm sure I'll learn). The vent handle to open and close is in place but don't know if it's stock; looks to be modified. The wood handles are in rough shape as well. I'll post pics in a different post to see if it's work rebuilding. It's a "E" vintage based on the top vent code.

Free is a good price. The missing inside vent is really the only down side. Still, it'll work until you want something else and surely someone else will take it off your hands when that day comes

The ash sweeper and pan aren't expensive. Give the wood handles a bit of a sand and then use some oil on them. Nice score.
