Installed gas assist on Performer today

Converted a premium to a deluxe...sort of.

It was a pretty big job. Painted her black, looks kind of grey.

Funny, I have gas assist on my SS Performer and I use Weber starter cubes 90% of the time.

I had a 1998 SSP that I had converted to 20# tank usage, and it worked great. But- I decided to simplify, didn't really need the gas as Greg indicated-so I recently sold it and now have a new base Performer. Nice job on the conversion!

Why don’t you use your gas starter?

i have a Camp Chef outdoor burner that has a lot more horsepower if I want to start a chimney with proPane gas. I also like Tumbleweeds or Weber starter cubes.

I love the gas start on the performer hook it up to a 20 lb bottle and you are good for a few years. Great addition to the grill .
