Inkbird Sous Vide

Anyone here have experience with an Inkbird Sous vide appliance? I like the ANOVA stainless one but with taxes it is $300 Canadian which is too rich for me and the Inkbird is only $110. I have heard people on here talking about the Inkbird thermometers but not the Sous vide so thought I would ask.

Thanks.

In general, I hear very good things about Inkbird products, though I don't know much about their SV. If you can wait and keep an eye on sales though, the Anova stuff can be had at a pretty steep discount during certain times of the year.

Have you thought about an Instant Pot with the Sous Vide feature? Probably more bang for your Canabucks being a Canadian company.

Thanks Bob. I did not know they made an Instant Pot with that function but I already have an Instant Pot. I have looked at their Sous vide immersion cooker that is like the rest and it is reasonably priced but I liked the clamp on the Inkbird and it is 1000w instead of 800w. Instant pot does not have Bluetooth or wifi either.

Wifi on any cooking product can let you keep track of how your cook is progressing or if you have problems, I have only ran my SV for short times while I was gone . Lost a 8lbs beef roast in a electronic crock pot 1 time due to a power outage while at work. Old style gets the nod now while at work and the fancier only while we are here. My pellet smoker doesn't have blue tooth or wifi but been known to set 1 of my blink camera's in front of the display, kick the feed on and have a look once in awhile lol. have had the blink camera's for 3-4 years now and love being able to watch what goes on while I am gone.

I prefer the Anova style clamp. You can adjust the depth of the circulator as determined by pot depth. We had one with the fixed clamp and I didn't like the lack of flexibility. YMMV

I would think any slow cooker capable of holding a low temp could do it. Could likely even accomplish it with your oven and a good heavy dutch oven
The sous-vide thing is a method of cooking I will never know about or try. I've been traumatized for life by Banquet boil-in-a-bag roast beef and turkey from the 70's.

You're a lot better at adjusting those to get a precise temperature than I am. I'm lucky if my oven will stay within 30 degrees of the set temp. The Sous Vide stays within 1 degree of set temp.

Yeah I hear ya. My POC LG range cannot even hold to within 50 deg. I was going off what our old Bosch Dual Fuel could do. Also even with a wide swing. If you use a heavy enameled cast iron pot I would think that would temper the swings. Like I said in another post the day I can kick that poc LG to the curb will be a VERY happy day indeed. Last LG product of ANY type I will ever buy again. Awful company
