I am looking for a meat injector kit and wondering if anyone has suggestions. I want one that will last many years, is easy to clean, has a long needle to deeply penetrate the meat, and prefer stainless steal.

i got a real nice stainless steel one at lowes last year for around 20.00 its great and should last a lifetime.

I sprung for this unit thinking it would be ideal and have a nice one handed action. Unfortunately, it had a couple of problems so I wouldn't recommend it. One of the key problems it that the diameter of the needle is pretty large, and leaves noticeable holes in meat.
I now actually prefer small disposable syringes intended for animal husbandry that are available at farm stores. The last time I was at TSC I bought this and am totally in love with it. I've meant to post about it.

Wow, that's a great website, thanks for the link! I can buy seasoning in bulk from there, except the seasonings I use small amounts of, those have to be Watkins! Don't you want an injector with several holes along the needle so you can get more brine throughout the meat? I am new to this so have no clue.

I insert the needle and pump as I draw out the needle. the holes on the side of the needle make it difficult to draw in the last drop of inject from your container and can cause a side squirt when pumping while withdrawing.
injecting is a messy game. that's why I like the little pumper with the tygon tubing. I put the tube in a bottle of brine and pump away with little mess.
the downside is that the needle is short so you don't get much penetration (but its fine for briskets, which are about all you really need to inject), and its a pretty narrow gauge so you can't inject solids.

I bought a unit called "spitjack". If you google the word it will take you there. It looks like a pistol, has a metering dial which can give several measured amounts of injection with each trigger pull, and comes with two needles. I love mine. It was $49 if I remember correctly. I have had it over a year and it works like new. I use it often and feel the quality is high.
i got mine from the dollar store
but i paid 2 bucks for it - this was 100% more than most items in the store
so i trust its a good one LOL
what i am saying is that it was a better than dollar product
i am going to try it out
certain items like this have huge markup
it looks just the like the steven raichlen one he is selling for $8.99
i dont think the tool matters much in this case - its what u are injecting
but i paid 2 bucks for it - this was 100% more than most items in the store
so i trust its a good one LOL

JB (Nickel City) The injector from TSC looks really cool. Same concept as that $175 pumper deal Myron Mixon sells at Jack's Old South. What kind of needle can you use on the TSC injector? does it come with a needle?

Oh, it is really cool. The best part is the one handed, spring loaded action.
It doesn't come with needles, but a 5 pack was a couple of bucks. They don't sell very long needles, nor are they a large gauge. The downside is that you can't pump inject with rub in it and its tough to do thicker meat like butt, but it works great for brisket.
