I have the same grill. I use the warming rack after direct cooking on the grates sometimes. Or I just reduce the heat and cook in the middle between the burners. These little grills can get really hot, real fast.

The other side would be upside down to me. I like the flat side better for cooking and cleaning wise.Just curious - why are your grates upside down?
Can confirm. The one and only time I’ve cooked on those grates, the menu was pork steaks and asparagus. They were great for the meat, but you had to lay the asparagus down very precisely so that the opening didn’t catch the end of the stalk and lat it fall in.Asparagus comes to mind.
There is more than one way to skin a cat. (I do not endorse harming any animals, except for the ones that are about to be grilled!)Having owned a Silver A just turn off the rear burner and cook all your indirect food across the back. EZPZ
As soon as I saw your trivets I figured you were from the "Land down under", as they do not sell those here in the US for some reason.Yes these are a bit tricky to do indirect due to their small size so tried the Weber q method with 2 foil and trivet sets.
Smoked off a batch of chicken sausages that came out pretty great!

I will have to try this. My nemesis is cut-up pieces of potato that lodge down in the grates. The other side would be upside down to me. I like the flat side better for cooking and cleaning wise.
They used to Joe. I have ones for my Q120 and 220 that I bought in the US. I am guessing that they didn’t sell so they discontinued them. Keep an eye out, there might be some NOS around. As soon as I saw your trivets I figured you were from the "Land down under", as they do not sell those here in the US for some reason.
Yep in AU the original plates are the porcelain coated onesAs soon as I saw your trivets I figured you were from the "Land down under", as they do not sell those here in the US for some reason.

Thank you for the kind words. You have a fine collection as well. There were actually 4 grills in the pic, I restored the 2 Silver A's and bought the XL from a member on this forum. I made a few changes to it for ease of maintenance. I replaced the wood shelves, handle and bottom shelf with a wire rack. The Silver A on the left is strictly for grilling veggies. My future daughter in law is a vegetarian and will not eat anything cooked on the other meat grills. lolNice pair of grills there
Every grill has a past - it's what they're cooking right now that matters. My future daughter in law is a vegetarian and will not eat anything cooked on the other meat grills.
You are a better future father-in-law than I. I would probably tell her to bring her own food. If I really really liked her....Maybe I would keep a Q1XX around. The Silver A on the left is strictly for grilling veggies. Bruce, I like the way you think.Joe, you would probably be on FB MP and CL looking for Genesis SS PLatinum for your D-I-L to be.
