Indirect heat on Genesis

Hello all,

I'm considering a Genesis, and wondered how one cooks with indirect heat, given that the elements run lengthwise. Use one element? Is there sufficient room to cook a turkey this way? I'm more used to grills in which the elements run fore to aft as opposed to lengthwise.

Thanks,

John

I've done indirect over the middle burner (off) or with just the front burner on, and the meat in the back. I think it would be difficult to do something as wide as a turkey.

actually its rather easy. just use the front burner if adequate and then place the turkey in a holder in a pan. or cover enough of the grate with foil and set the turkey on a trivet.

I use the front burner with the food in back. Rotate the food halfway through the cooking time, or rotate at 1/4's of the time.
