Turns out, the ambient grate temperature for my smoker sitting in the driveway in the sun in 87* temperature runs about 112*. Yep, first lit coal didn't catch. After adding some more lit coals, we,re cruising at 149* Bacon is now getting her applewood.

We were lucky today. Overcast off and on. Kept the temps cool until the rain came. Lucky for me, I was done by then!
