In the end I could not justify spending the $800+ investment for something that would not cook the food any better.

Today the wife let me purchase a new 22 WSM for fathers day and I am happier than a Brisket on a smoker.

I will never make that mistake again, please forgive me.

Shameless plug while I'm at it.......Called around to see who had them in stock, and Sams Appliance in Norwood Mass went to the warehouse and picked it up for me the same day...for $319. I was psyched.

Any way, happy smoking....
