Just got a 22.5 ots on sale at the old home depot and am looking to make it crazy for under $300 bucks total to show it can be done cheaper than a wsm. The end goal is to be able to smoke a 75 pound suckling in there whole. Any suggestions? I'm going to make this grill legendary!

M. Tucker, now does the $300 include labor, gas to go get material and tools needed? Good luck!

$300 total parts i just got back from home depot with 30g aluminum ducting a hinge and some nuts and bolts, pics to follow this is going to be an all nighter

Besides the no brainer internal mods.
1. I'd put a good thermometer on it.
2. Pick up some Aluminum HVAC tape to close down the vent slots. It will help you maintain temps.
3. Cut down the legs to help with it being top heavy. Especially with the 75lbs of meat in it.
4. Handles on the mid section to help with moving it.
5. Keep your favorite Libation(s) nearby. That piglet is gonna take a while.
Keep the pics coming.

hey guys, i posted a couple more pics

ive added a thermometer to the door but think im going to build another one i cant seem to get the seal right on it. The shell worked great no leakage just a bit around the cutout. I'm using weather stripping around the cutout right now anyone have a better idea? What do you guys think i should do on the inside? ideas on supports, racks, coal containing, wood chip and water bin placement?
hey Mac McClure what are the no brainer mods?

for anyone who is thinking of doing a home depot weber kettle mod it is more fun than a Siberian donkey fight
