I have more sets of z-metal than I can count that aren't Rusty. Most of the ones I come across are in good shape. I'll definitely be reusing them. I think I probably have enough stuff stockpiled from Dave where I don't need to order anything else from him. I wanted to get everything I needed from him just in case he retires or comes to the point where he isn't interested in selling anymore

That is an enviable luxury that I wish I could experience more often. I like Dave's stuff but prefer to use the original factory ones whenever possible. I did use all original zbars on the Jack Daniels build because I had the luxury of obtaining brand new zbars along with some really nice original ones I already had.

I can totally relate to the old American made gas grills for their good construction compared to what is offered today. I also recognize that most of those grills pale in comparison to what Weber came out with in 1985. That's why I don't find those other brands all that interesting. Growing up hardly anyone had a gas grill that I knew of, your grill was a Weber kettle or you had something less than.

I've actually really enjoyed trying different grills and didn't think that I would like some of them as much as I do. I still have a lot more I'd like to try but some so far I'm not sure I want to live without.
