Hard to find for sureYeah, I thought I could live with the fade on the lid but I couldn't. A Skyline lid in perfect condition is on my short list.

I've seen quite a few lids and control panels that have the little white specks all over them. It's just the way the fade starts most of the time.Yup. It’s crazy on that lid how the fade is almost uniform specs. Not like most Weber faded lids.

Definitely a unicorn at this point, same as a black Platinum series lid.Hard to find for sure
Let me know when you get one. I'll be happy for you and jealous all at once.Black Platinum series I can still get. Almost always at least one available in Arizona at any given time.
But not fade-free skyline lid
I want to grab one and I definitely would if I found one in Washington. I already have 2 grills in AZ and I don't want tons of grills there like I have in Washington.Let me know when you get one. I'll be happy for you and jealous all at once.
Yeah it's crazy almost never come across black Platinum or any other color in Washington but in Arizona most of them are platinum grills. My original Platinum series grill came from Marshall Field back in the day. They didn't sell them everywhere and they were more expensive than the very similar Genesis LX. It doesn't surprise me that you see them a lot in AZ as the retirees there probably had more disposable income than a lot of others.
Understandable, I can't really have too many grills here either. My town comes down on you pretty hard for having twenty grills in your backyard. I'm sure you can make room for something you really want though.I want to grab one and I definitely would if I found one in Washington. Like I said, it makes sense when you think about the demographics.Yeah it's crazy almost never come across black Platinum or any other color in Washington but in Arizona most of them are platinum grills.
Juniors and 1000s are at the top of my list and I have at least a dozen 1000s already and juniors are very hard to come by so I would pick up maybe a couple more juniors.Understandable, I can't really have too many grills here either. No not a platinum but my gray burgundy striped lid is my favorite without the Platinum logo. I still would like a platinum lid but it's not a must-have.But not a Platinum series?
I'll bet you don't even need Dave's zbars, the factory ones that you have probably aren't even rusty. I would love to work with the stuff that you have compared to what I get most of the time.No not a platinum but my gray burgundy striped lid is my favorite without the Platinum logo. I have everything I need for two more high level restoration 1000 grills and a nice Platinum lid for one of them would be the only possible thing I would want that I don't have.
Technically I have enough to make several nice 1000s but when I say everything I mean all the 304 SS. 9930 grates or Dave's and Dave's flav bars and Z-metal and flip table brackets. And all the Brazilian Walnut
That will be a beauty! My next Weber restoration will be my gray lid 1000 with dark Brazilian Walnut.
I'm looking forward to it!That will be a beauty!
