Orange peel on a grill doesn’t bother me whatsoever. My work grill redhead 1000lx is super peely looking. Actually looks kinda neat in certain lighting.

That's interesting. I wonder if that lid is original to that grill. Usually it's the first generation Genesis grills that have noticeably more orange peel.

There was always some overlap in parts usage when things were changed up. A good example is when you see a Genesis 1-5 grill with the newer style wheels. I'm sure they did the same thing with lids, although this would be an example of an older part making it's way on to a newer model grill.
