I will just leave this here

I'm not sure when I'm going to get out to see my sister again but if I do I would enjoy meeting up and seeing some of your grills. I've only been out once about ten years ago, really beautiful landscapes, sunsets and vast views. She says it gets really hot in the summer though.
Absolutely!
Most of my grills are in Washington for now though. Until I retire and move to Arizona full time.

I was thinking about that, it sounds like the lids are interchangeable and the only difference is how the endcaps are attached. As I mentioned, I asked for more photos of the grill and the owner DM'ed me some. Here they are. Frame seems OK, hard to tell with the top of the lid.View attachment 122947View attachment 122948View attachment 122949View attachment 122950View attachment 122951View attachment 122952View attachment 122953View attachment 122954
That looks a lot nicer than the original picture! For a keeper, based on those it’s more with the price. I’d try and haggle a bit, but if you’re wanting a blue head I wouldn’t let $25 less ruin the deal.

It does look extremely nice. Driving two hours to get a grill and then attempting to haggle is pretty low class unless an in person inspection turns up something unseen in the pictures.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Even when I saw the original dark photo I thought it looked pretty clean and committed to buy it. I asked the owner for more photos and the second set she was nice to send looked really good. I am a little unsure about the top of the lid though. I asked about it but I'm a bit worried about spooking the seller. At some point no matter what info you can or can't get or how far it is to drive, you just have to stick with a commitment and go out and see it closely. Nevertheless, no matter what the drive I feel you have to be ready to walk if things aren't right. This one is more than twice I've ever spent on a grill I planned to fix up, but if it turns out as good as the photos then I believe it's a fair price for a personal grill that will hopefully look great and I will really enjoy. Part of the project though will be convincing Martha that we "only" need three grills on our deck.

Probably the only thing you'll need to be concerned about is if the top of the lid is scratched up. The only lids that really fade are the black ones, plus it appears this grill has spent it's life under a cover. Bring a bottle of windex and a couple of microfiber towels with you. Spray the lid down and wipe it off good. You should be able to tell pretty quick what's going on there.

Thanks, that's a good idea.
