I think my thermocouple port is bad.

Hello folks. After a few years of use with my HM, I think my thermocouple port has finally called it quits. I luckily had a brand new spare probe so I'm pretty sure it's the port. The temp spikes ten degrees, 4 degrees for no reason. Is there anything I can do to further diagnosis or possibly fix the issue? Are the ports dirty? I have no idea what do to at this time. Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Don't know what changed today but it started working on its own.

You had an intermittent failure. You now have an intermittent success, which may revert to failure mode at any time. So don't assume it has cured itself.
