Been away for awhile after some health issues and glad to feel well enough to rejoin the brethren.
I have a gen 1 22” WSM I’m going to fire up Sunday morning for a watch party.
I have a whole pork loin and some baby backs. I thinking the biggest change I’m looking at is the variety of fuel that’s available now so what’s the latest and greatest everyone is using now?

Its great to be back.

John,
It's great to see you back and glad to hear you're feeling better. It has been a while. I believe you were really active when I first joined. I remember enjoying your posts.
As far as new fuels go, I just picked up a bag of Chunks (lump charcoal) made by Jealous Devil. Haven't tried it yet but will this weekend. It's supposed to be the cat's meow. Anyway, glad to see you back.

Hey John,

I owned a WSM 22 for a little while, and from what I read, many still rely on KBB or KB comp in the WSM.

I use JD lump in my BGE and my Summit Kamado, but in my kettle, I still use briquettes.

So, I had a question about your signature "Old Gasser converted to charcoal"

Is that a grill you converted?

Yes, I converted a gas grill to a charcoal grill with a drill, scrap metal and some hex bolts and nuts to make a slide air vent to cover the big air openings. It has seen its better days and has gone to grill heaven.
