I finally bought one, hopefully it's ok

After sitting in the pool and running the Weber Performer with a 5.5 lb butt at 275 since 10am, I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and order a new WSM from Amazon because I've been tinkering with this thing every 30 min. As I turned on the puter, I found an email alert telling me a WSM was just added to ebay. They are usually new and priced similarly to amazon, but i looked anyway. To my surprise, it was a used one. Though the condition appears to be slightly below avg, it seemed like a decent price. Shipping was high, but on a combined basis, seemed fair overall. I would have preferred to run it past you folks to make sure 1) it was complete and not missing anything, other than the cover 2) you thought the condition was decent enough that it would function ok and that the price was good. However, it had a buy it now for $35, so I decided to grab it and ask you after the fact.

Anyway, it seems complete and in workable shape, but what are your thoughts? Will I need to buy anything else to go with it, besides the thermometer and give it a good cleaning?

You got a really good deal there. Shipping is not high at all. Have you mailed any boxes/packages lately? Great score Davidd.

I thought it was, but was so hard to tell from the pic. It looked shorter to me in the pic but fig it was just the way the pic was taken. Also the measurements seemed small to me as well.

I'll throw my hat in the ring also: If you decide you don't want it, I will go pick it up.

I would even offer a private internal TVWB auction amongst us, and sell it to the highest bidder.

I am so jealous: here in my neck of the woods, and I didn't even know about it....

But congrats to you.

Well, seeing how I was trying to get a std/regular wsm, I would be open to a trade if someone has one they want to offer in exchange for this one. Though the idea of having such an interesting piece of history is neat, I'd like to have a regular std WSM first.

Anyone have one they want to trade for this unit? Feel free to email me at tealboy1@aol.com.

I rec'd an email from a member suggesting I list it on ebay b/c I might find a collector who is willing to pay top dollar, but I'd rather get it to someone on the board so drop me a note. I'm in Central Florida if that matters, and thx to all for the help.

I have 2 WSM's and plan to get one of the new 22.5" models when they come out so I'm probably looking to get rid of my older 5 year old unit that's set up for a BBQ Guru. I'm sure there are others like Bryan S. that mentioned the other day that he has a brand new still-in-the-box unit that he'd probably offer up but I beat him to it.

Seriously, look at all offers.

Bill

EDIT: I should add that I'll throw in my original BBQ Guru w/4 CFM blower.
