Bought a Weber OTG a few weeks back and wondering how much i should actually clean it?

Some people have said leave the crud build up for a better rim seal over time, where as others clean religously, So would the correct way to clean be clean around your vents, the OT cleaning system and cooking grill, but leave the fat etc build up on the bowl over time??

I brush my cooking grates after and before each cook, I also make sure I clean all the ash out when I'm sure it's all out especially if you live where it’s very humid as ash will attract moisture. A couple of times a year I'll scrap the bowl out if it really gets gunked up and that's about it.

If the grill is not new to me, I burn the crud out and start from clean with my own. I brush the grates before
each cook. Thats about all it really needs.

Check the lid and brush off anything that looks "loose" and might fall on your food, otherwise just brush the grates after use and scrape off anything towards the bottom of the bowl that would cause the fins to bind up. Otherwise gunk build up at the lip is a good thing esp if your doing smoking, but a build up of fat around the bottom can cause a grease fire.
