How much is an 1880 worth?

Hello,

I have an 1880 stamped "E" that is complete and has most of the ceramic in tact. I've used it a few times to cook and it's been a blast to use. How much do you think it's worth? I have always considered selling it but probably never will.

It's too much of a classic to sell, considering what you already have in your BBQ arsenal. You'll be kicking yourself after it's gone.

All you need is to pick up a 18.5 and 22.5 WSM and you'll be all set...

Lawrence, i will give you $125.00 and pay shipping and handling, i do not know what them smokers are worth.

Guys, this is not a fs thread, sorry. I am just trying to gauge it's market value without actually putting it on ebay so I figured I'd ask you guys here.

I don't really know how to do this otherwise since I have only heard of about 9 of these on the bbq forums. Most of them are local finds.

These people own or have owned them:
-Me
-Chris A.
-DaviDD- since donated to Weber for a new WSM
-Frederik
-Jo C
-Bill Nipe
-Matthew Wood
-MikeTron- BBQB
-K-barbecue- BBQB

not worth anything. has that old junk wood handle and its also to small. i'll take it off yer hands so you can have space for a real smoker.

I believe we understand. And what better way to figure out market value then to see what we are willing to spend?

I would say $200-$250 to the average person that just wants one and more to a museum.

I think the "Mini WSM" mod is the way to go if you just want a smaller version.

By the way, any word on the new 1880 we are expecting?

Eric, I have been lurking on this thread since you first posted it. I guess the title is misleading people. If you are a weber collector, and appreciate rare weber products, then the 1880 is priceless, and couldn't be bought no matter what. If you happened apon a 1880, like it, but could live without it, (for the right price)then $200+ would be a good starting figure. Last, if you found it on CR, tried it, and found it to be just small version of the WSM and therefore don't find it's usefulness, You could put it on CL for $100 and get some cash quick!
So I guess the true value of the smoker is all in how you feel about it, and whether or not you want to keep it, or look to something else.
I hope this helps,
Tim

It aint worth squat! It is way too small to be practical. I would take it off yer hands so you can buy a nicer one!
