How much food can a Q1XX(X) take?

I am looking to trade my Weber GA for a Q1200 to use when I take the family camping in our caravan. I would really like to hear how much (and what kind of) food you have managed to cook on it at one time. How many people did you cook for?

The largest thing I ever cooked on my 1000 was a 10LBS Tri-Tip. My BBQ-Wok from Home Depot fits in it

We just sold our beloved Q120 after 6 years of problem-free service as our camping grill. We now have a Q200 as I feel we somewhat outgrew the 120.

Having said that.........cooking for a family of 4 is do-able. We've done 6-8 burgers at once, a spatchcock chicken, 10-12 sausages. If you really want to expand its use and do some good indirect setups, get your hands on a "trivet" from Weber.....had to get mine right from Australia thanks to a friend who was travelling there. It would be easy enough to fabricate something to act like a trivet.

For us, what we found was the 120 was fine for our family of 4.....for just the meat. But if you want to get meat and say some potatoes going or something else it starts to get tight, that's why we moved to the 200. I figure with the 200 and the trivet I can actual do a direct and indirect cook at the same time.

I got the trivet from a suggestion here, it's a Fat Dadios rack from Amazon and it's well made!! I don't know how I got along without it. If you want to up your cooking game on the Q's, try a rack. Great for ribs, roasts, chicken, etc.
we use the Q 200 for the two of us when in the RV, but have cooked for 6 before and done just fine.
