How Do You Store Your WSM?

Store it? I was outside yesterday smoking pastrami. It was raining (about 2 inches that day) and 43 degrees. I just drag everthing onto the porch and go for it. I'm thinking about the garage to get out of the wind.

On deck without a roof, under a 55 gallon black plastic bag.To be honest the way th WSM is designed you can store outdoors uncovered & it'll take 30 years to rust out!

I don't. I never 'store' grills. It, the WSM - and any other grills - are not under cover nor do I cover them.

Not really stored I guess. Both the Performer and the WSM either on the open patio or in the screened in porch. Depends on where they were used last. That's usually where they stay.

Last several years they remained on the patio.

Covers on both. Vents open. Ash is always removed after a cook. I turn the mid section of the WSM upside down after each use/cleanup - no water intrusion that way. The covers leak.

Mine's stored in a shed with the vents closed and the cover usually on. Never had a mold problem but I generally make sure everything is good and dry before I store. I also clean the grates and make sure they're dry before storing.

Outside, bottom vents open. Trash bag, then cover for the WSMs. Had the 22" fill up with rain and ash once, and didn't want to go through that again.

All of my grills are stored under the carport in the middle between the cars with covers on and vents closed. No problems with mold.

In the garage due to the winter weather...its just easier to get things set up as my garage is off my patio.

I keep the WSM covered and under the deck outside the walkout door. The performer and gasser our covered and on the deck. All three get used year round. There is nothing like shoveling the snow away from the grill or smoker for some ribs or steaks. The smoke pouring out with snow on the ground is a heart warming sight.

In my 6x10 Interstate Cargo trailer with rear ramp door inside wood framed boxes equipped with 4" casters. Two 18" WSM's in one box and the 22's in their own. Think Road Cases for Bullets.

Here's an old pic of one in the background with Bill the Butcher!
