How Close is your fire extinguisher to your Outdoor Cooking Gear?

I keep mine under my gasser,but think I might to need to move under the wood oven.

besides several water hoses i have two extinguishers within panic distance.

I'm not paranoid about this but we did have a situation in the kitchen years ago when my kid's were still living at home. A grease fire on the stovetop with lots of smoke. It was covered immediately and no real damage.
After that, I placed 3 FE's throughout our home. About every 6 months, I would ask the kids to go find them.
Smoke alarms an CO detectors are good too.

None outside. Garden hose is close by.

Same as you. This is one reason I'm happy I got into competitive BBQ - it forces me to re-certify all my fire extinguishers every year (and the first year I joined a competition, to actually buy one

Same as you. This is one reason I'm happy I got into competitive BBQ - it forces me to re-certify all my fire extinguishers every year (and the first year I joined a competition, to actually buy one

I always just shake my head when the 'officials' come by at a comp to 'inspect' and 'certify' my fire extinguisher. It's a whole show they put on just to extract about $25 out of me.
I always make it a point to tell them that the only reason I bring it is for them to do their inspection. It would be the very last thing I would grab in case of a fire.
Having been a firefighter for many years, I always keep a charged hose line ready to go within a few feet of a lit cooker. At comps, I hang the spray nozzle from the EZ-Up within an easy arms length from the cookers. I can have water on the fire in less than 5 seconds. The extinguisher? It hangs on the wall nice and safe.
