I put the Q-200 I picked up on CL through its paces and was surprised by how hot it runs. I am running it off of a 15-pound tank with the Weber brand hose.
After 15-20 minutes on high, the Q was running between 525-550 degrees, according to my Maverick thermometer. When I dialed the Q down to low, it wouldn't go below 400.
This is totally contrary to all I have read about the 200 series, which seems to have a reputation as an under performer. I am happy with the high heat, but I expected the Q to be able to run cooler than 400 degrees even after leaving the lid open for five minutes or so.
This is an older Q that accepts only the long, skinny, 14-ounce canisters.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks.
