Home made BBQ hanger for my WSM

After seeing a few of these rigs on the forum (jim lampe and a few others have one ) I was talking to a friend at work who's a very talented fabricator and welder and he said he could make me one no problem. He made this from my sketch and a few pictures from this forum. And he improved it a bit , too.

he took my WSM home with him to fit the pieces and in just a few days he came back with this and it fits perfectly. This gives you the option of using your WSM as a pit barrel cooker. Haven't made the meat hangers yet , but I've got a set of metal skewers that I think will bend up nicely.
I can't wait to try this out. I think I'm going to get a whole chicken on Friday and check it out.. I will post pix when I do.

Excellent! I think you'll love it. I know I love my expandable smoking rack.

I've said this before: I believe it takes the WSM to a whole new level for higher heat PBC style cooks and low N slow sausage, jerky, bacon, etc cooks.

Good job there! I'm sure you will enjoy it.
One of the unsung benefits of hanging meat is that there is almost no clean-up to do outside of scouring the hooks.
