Picked up a two-pack of butts at Sam's the other day (had to ask the kid putting out the ground beef, they had cases in the back but none on the floor).

Smoked with Royal Oak and a few chunks of hickory from the bagged stuff they're selling at Home Despot this year.

Just finished shredding. Mmmmmmm, sauce? who needs sauce?

Just waiting for the guests to arrive before I devour the whole thing. They're running late so I dumped the pork into the crock pot for keeping.

sounds yummy. just to hot for me to smoke anything here. can't wait until the temp drops a little. i just do fast grilling stuff when its this hot.
 
The temp was in the high '80's but felt a good ten degrees cooler in the shade. My deck was in the shade for most of the cook. It's been humid as all heck the last couple of weeks too but wasn't too bad.

I tried a new rub too. Real basic, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chilli powder, salt, and pepper. It turned out great.
