I have seen a guy on TV do spares on high heat grill. he won the throw down. any one ever try this ?

I saw that epsisode and it was not exactly high heat but it was "grilling". I have grilled my ribs for years. I use a baste and turn method that my father used. I can cook three slabs of ribs on the grill in about 1.5 hours. Tender and good ribs. In fact my wife does not like my smoked ribs as muchs as my grilled. As a side note I use a gas grill. Have used charcoal this method and it works just as well.

I saw that episode. I don't remember seeing raw meat, but it has been a while. I wonder if the ribs were boiled (please forgive me for using the "b" word). They looked amazing either way. I grill-foil-grill babyback ribs on my OTS in the winter. They really do taste amazing.

If you baste and flip a lot, there is no reason you can't make a very tender rib....even without foiling or boiling.
