Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. Been casually doing BBQ for about 10 years. Had a propane smoker that finally gave out, so I upgraded to an 18.5" WSM this year. Also have a Char-Griller Duo with the side fire box, but I use it more as a grill than a BBQ.

I got into smoking by doing a turkey for our 4th of July party. The results were so well-liked that it became an annual tradition, and of course I've expanded the types of meats (and fish) I've smoked. My newest venture is in sausage-making, and smoked sausage is about the most perfect food I can think of. Looking forward to making more varied types of sausages and get into cured sausage making too.

Anyways... I've got a turkey defrosting right now! I will probably share a photo or two this weekend. Happy smoking!
 
Welcome Derek glad to have you not just lurking anymore. I just did a turkey on the WSM last week. I look forward to your future posts and pictures.
