My name is Chris ... been a Weber Genesis Silver gas grill user for over 12 years ... I love my grill, but, no matter how I try, smoking things just isn't the same. I've done ribs and the occasional beer can chicken on it, but it just can't get low enough.

I don't have much in the way of hobbies, so I decided to take up smoking (meat, that is) last year. My wife said I could buy myself a smoker for Father's day last year. Well, got busy, work kids, etc ... and I finally purchased and assembled my gift this weekend, only ten months late.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and recipes with the forum. haven;t decided what my first recipe will be ... maybe a fatty or some armadillo eggs from the Secrets of the WSM cooker cookbook. Glad to be here!!

Welcome Chris. There's a lot of good info here, you'll love it. NOVA is a beautiful area, I'm down there every Sept. for a car rally through Skyline Dr. Then a day to visit all the wineries in the area.
