Earlier tonight I skinned a 3-bone rack of beef ribs. Normally I'd throw the membrane and related fat straight into the garbage, but it's going to be warm this week so I had the idea that if I cooked everything before throwing it out it might stink less (the kitchen garbage can sits in the no-AC mud room).

So I broke out a small pan and let the stove do its thing, and after awhile I had some shriveled, crispy bits of connective tissue and fat. No way was this going to make the garbage smell!

And I can verify that the garbage will not smell, because those shriveled, crispy bits of connective tissue and fat got eaten. Mostly by me, although The Dog helped a little bit. Probably not as much as she would've preferred.;)

Brad you have taken “Frugality” to a high standard! I like it.
Sometimes the initial thought leads to a better result than originally conceived!
