Yup. And if you are using water, use hot.
One of the key points (and advantages) to a Minion start, imo, is the slower rise. I'm not interested in a quick rise to temp (and most of my cooks are in the 325-350? range - so nothing in the pan). For a low/slow cook I start with about a dozen lit; a high heat cook I start with around 2 dozen. I look to hit target in around an hour.
I use either a quality lump or comp K. Don't like blue but it works.
