Help with wings and a sweet sauce

Hi again all. I posted earlier today about something good to reheat. Surprise surprise...the wife decided to change up her idea for what I am to cook. She decided she wants me to smoke some wings the day of. From the info I have gathered today...it looks like I can cook these up in about an hour or so at 300. I have two questions...one...do you recommend marinating them before you put them on the smoker? The second question is does anyone know of a good sweet sauce I could use for these? I have been looking on the recipe page and am having a hard time finding something. My wife isn't a bbq sauce/hot sauce person...so am looking for a recipe for something sweet.

Does it hurt if you bump it up to 300 to get them done faster? Gonna be cooking with a very small time window.

Ranch dressing is good, but it's not sweet, here's a sweet sauce I'm sure everyone knows.

1/4 C peach preserves/jam
1/4 C apricot preserves/jam
2 T corn syrup
5 t white vinegar
1 1/2 t corn starch
1/2 t soy sauce
1/2 t yellow mustard
1/4 t salt
1/8 t garlic powder
2 T water

Combine all ingredients except the water in a food processor or a blender and puree until the mixture is smooth.

Pour mixture into a small saucepan over medium heat. Add water, stir, and bring to a boil. Allow it to boil for five minutes, stirring often. When the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat and let it cool.

My family doesn't do hot either and they love this sauce, the only heat in this sauce is the mustard, try it I'm sure your wife will tell you she has had this before.

Enjoy,

Karl

Well crap. Thanks Karl. Now I don't know which one to try. Seems like there is quite a bit more to your sauce than Lens. I'm definitely gonna have to try them both at some time.

M,I made a batch of wings on my OTS today. Do half regular ranch for her, half spicy ranch for yourself! About an 45 minutes to an hour at 300* will get them done nicely!
