Got this Weber outdoor fire pit or something heater for free today. Any idea where to get instructions to change ignitor and other parts if needed. I’d like to clean out thoroughly. Is it worth restoring. Any ideas would help. Thanks

Do you just need the igniter button or the electrode as well? If you need the electrode as well as the button, post up a photo of the electrode.

Depending on how complete that is, it is certainly worth fixing up.

Vic,
What you have there is a Weber Flame Fire pit. There were made in the mid 2000's and retailed for $699 so it was a rather costly experiment from Weber which probably explains why they were only made for a couple years.

If is is a Propane unit is is model # 27000
If Natural Gas it is model # 27001.

Looking at the tank scale you have on back of the unit your's is the Propane unit.

You can probably clean up the igniter and get it to work otherwise a Weber # 7509 igniter could be had for $14.

You could read about my experience with mine as well as others who are looking/found a Flame as well.

Edited: 7509 igniter and not 7510.

Thank you for response and link to the thread. Can you possibly gimme an idea how to access the ignitor. I see it’s location but how does one get to it. It’s got me stumped.

Vic,
I just went out and snapped a couple pictures of mine.

If you lift the front of the unit you can access the igniter easily. The second puc shows where it connects to the underside of the firepit.

Wanted to also add that the Ignitor is the Weber #7509 and not the #7510.
The 7509 is the threaded one where the 7510 clips in.

Jeff

Jeff, do those use the same electrode that the 7509 comes with? The one with the gas collector shroud?

Bruce,
Like I said I have yet to replace my igniter or do any work on my Flame but the igniter appears to be identical to the #7509, just with the Gas Collector removed.

I snapped a pic from the top and you can see the ceramic piece as well as the electrode popping through.

Vic is gonna have to be the guinna pig for this.
😀

Yah, just replace the push button igniter and it should be fine unless the elctrode itself is burned away or damaged. Even so, it looks like it might be the same as the one that the igniter kit comes with minus the gas collector.

It seems like I have a small project on my hands. I need to snap pictures but it doesn't look that easy to access. I will add pics as soon as possible.
I was able to get the ignitor out. Here are the pics: so is this a standard ignitor. The black wire connector had come off prior to this. So a new one will be needed.

That reminds me of the older Q grill igniters. It has been a while since I took one apart so I could be wrong.
But that one looks fine to me. If the piezo works, then I would think that would be fine.

I’ve taken one apart and rebuilt it. The electrode isn’t quite the same. I believe it was threaded or something.

You are dead-on. This is an unusual one isn't it?

Vic,
That electrode/piezo might be fine and a Igniter button alone might solve your issue. I would try that first. If that proves futile I might have an idea for a solution. Keep us posted.

Jeff

Vic,
Found this as well if the push button doesn't solve the issue-

.

There are others as well but this posting shows the dimensions.
