Help with an LX ignition system please

Hello all....its been a while but I always enjoy returning for wisdom. I have scooped several grills this week due to Fathers Day discards replaced with shiny new grills for Dad. I picked up a LX 330? 340? Sorry I should have checked that but it doesnt matter. This one has the " rotary contact control valve switches " ignition system that I simply call twist fire. Out of the 300 plus grills that I have restored I have come across very few with this system and thus I am not familiar with the tips and tricks to repair them. In this case I turn the knob and there is no clicking like the Summit twist fire.....there is no noise at all. Could this just be a battery situation or do these rotary starters make a snapping sound or something when the knob is turned. Admittedly I should have done more of a deep dive and at least replaced the battery or cleaned wire terminals.....or cleaned corrosion in the battery well.....I havent even started on this grill other than rolling it into position. Sooooooooo please educate me on where to start.....or how to check to see if they are working. Thank you all and Happy Fathers day
 
Is that an igniter button on the top right of the control panel? I don’t know anything about these models but I don’t think ignition comes from the knobs. Or is that button a light switch?
 
Cody and Jim, I only have done one of these, but on mine that button IS the igniter switch. The battery on mine was in a pack inside the cabinet where the wires then go to each burner’s electric spark igniter - not a snap jet.
 
That is a button to light up the LED knobs. The LX grills do have an iginition system where the igniter fires as you turn the knob. But it also has the large battery pack for D or C cell batteries for power for the igniters. They are not Snap jet. You don't get the flame shooting out like you do on the Summits.
 
Just to clear up some confusion, the AA battery powers the ignition clicks.

There is a separate box with D batteries which power the lights for the knobs.
 
Thank you everyone for the replies and bonus points to Bruce for the vid. I will get to fixin' that one after father's day travel. It would be awesome if it was just the batteries or corrosion.
 
You will like that grill. Those LX grills are my second favorite after the the first and second generation Genesis.

The high+Sear on all three burners heats up quickly.

The weak point is the markings around the knobs. They can be scrubbed or pressure washed off if you aren't careful. Looks like yours got partially removed. Otherwise they are fantastic grills. Sadly you can't get new stickers for around the knobs. You have to get a new control panel. Maybe Weber will give you a new one under warranty. That's what my buddy did.
