Going to smoke my first brisket and frankly am clueless on this darn thing. is this a flat or packer? it weights 8.5lbs...any other advice/thoughts are appreciated!!!
That's a whole packer? I'm far from an expert but it looks too evenly flat whereas whole packers are much thicker on the point end and taper to the flat. Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like flat to me.
Looks like a whole packer to me. Your pictures show the point on the left end. Pic #2 (from the top)shows the separation between the point and the flat.
