Help Me Identify My New Weber

Hello all, I’m new to the group. I just recently got a free Weber gas grill my neighbor was going to throw away. After tons of research, I believe it’s either an Genesis 1100 or Weber 900. I’m looking to purchase new flavorizer bars, and cast iron cooking grate but want to nail down the correct model. Burners are in good shape in fire right up. Any other tips or tricks I should know about. Thanks in. advanced.

Based on the single center support and the two separate bottom racks I'd say your new grill is indeed a Weber 900.
Congrat!

Flavorizer bars and cooking grates would be the same as Genesis 1000 grills.

Bruce, I think Larry is right. I looked up the serial number and the manual shows five flavorizer bars and it does list it as a 900.

Yah, you guys are correct. I didn't look to hard at the picture as it wasn't easy to tell, but a close look does look like a shallow 5 bar box.

But, is that not a 1998 grill? I did not think Weber came up with the shallow 5 bar box until 2000. No? Or did Weber introduce the 5 bar box prior to the Silver B's?

Bruce,
The Spirit 500/700/900 were the first of their Weber's to use the 5 bar box, predating the Silver A/B/C series grills.

My old Spirit 700 which I purchased brand new in 1999 was the twin of the 900 with a little less BTUs and one instead of two lower racks.

I had a similar frame that I did not know what to do with. Finally found out that a Silver B box and a Genesis Gold manifold would work. Here it is, but looking for other ideas.
