I inherited this beautiful ready-to-restore Weber grill from my dad. The problem is I can't figure out what model it is. Might be a Spirit 700 but leaning more towards Genesis 1000LX. The serial number was on a long-since-faded sticker on the side of the control panel. Any help is greatly appreciated. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/51483538/Weber Grill.JPG

It looks like a 1000LX to me, based on the durawood bottom shelf. You can also check to see if it has the slots for the 13 (5 horizontal, 8 vertical) flavorizer bars as that would pretty much guarantee it is a Genesis 1xxx series.

Thanks Mike! You are right. I hadn't noticed the vertical FB slots thru all the built up crud. Problem solved; time to order new parts! :) Thanks again.

Mike got it right as I have a 1000LX and that's what the one you have is. Great grill, cooked on mine last night for the first time in a year or so.

Rich, that one's a beauty! Is that a restore? It looks to be in near perfect condition. I'm under the impression these came out in the mid 1990s. Mine's a deep burgundy color. I hope it cleans up as nice as that forest green you've got.

Michael,

Here are some shots of my 1100 for comparison, but the handle style on Rich's 1000XL might be the distinguishing factor. Also, is the shelving on yours a plastic composite, or wood painted gray? Mine was the latter.

Michael, I bought "greenie" new in 1999. I've done one minor refurb on it about 5 years ago. Stripped it down cleaned it up put new FBs from RCplanbuyer on EBay. I just take very good care of my grills, too expensive not to. She's due for another good cleaning, but I won't tear it down again. Since I got my NG E320 greenie is just used for roti work and like last night grilled some burgers just to get it good and hot to burn of anything the might be nasty from sitting.
I know some people cringe when I tell them how I keep the lid looking so good. On a cold lid spray a good amount of windex and take some 0000 steel wool and rub VERY LIGHTLY making sure the lid is very wet with windex. Wipe off with a paper towel and you have a shinny streak free lid. Been doing that on greenie for 16 years and the lid looks like new. Do it on my kettles and E320 and they also look like new, great way to clean up a used grill like yours, you may have to do it a few times but just remember LIGHTLY.
