Hello,
Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. My name is Rick and I am from Los Angeles. I have never smoked anything before so I am a complete noob.
My wife recently said we need a smoker, which blew me away since I had no idea she was into it, so I got online and started researching smokers. Came upon this site and saw the Smokey Joe mini smoker setup and I was sold. I spent the next couple days just reading the forums. There is so much information here it was an overload. I gathered everything I needed last weekend and built one. I used the SJS with Imusa steamer.
I just want to thank everyone that contributes to the site for sharing. It made the entire process so easy.
I am smoking a Pork Butt right now and will post some pics once done. So far it is amazing how easy it is to keep the temp stable with these.
Edit: Here are some pics.
The images are too big to post here so I am linking the album.

This was a 4.7 LB butt and took just over 5 hours to cook. Overall I am very happy with the outcome.
