Hello, I am new to the forum and a beginner smoker as well. I picked up a 22.5 wsm the other day and have not had a chance to fire it up yet... Can you believe it is cold and rainy here in Socal.

I found this site last night and have been reading up on my new wsm. So I need to go shopping on Amazon to get some cool accessories.

Hope to learn and master my new smoker..

Welcome to the forum Long. My heater has been running for a few days so I fully understand. The real issue here is that we really need a lot more rain. That said, unlike many parts of the country, we can usually cook year round. You are going to love that WSM. You will love this site as everyone here is very friendly and love to help others.

Haven't had a chance to use the smoker yet... Life kind of gets in the way sometimes. But locally, Stater Bros has Spare Ribs on sale 1.99 a lb, tri-tip at 2.99 a lb. And Pork butt at .99 a lb..
Looks like I may stock up on some meat..
 
Yes Long, the winds are very heavy and cold up here. Many trees down also. When I was driving back from a service call yesterday, not only was it very windy but the wind was also blowing a lot of dust. Not great for driving.
