Hi, my name is Rob and I'm in Allen Park, MI. I just picked up 2 Weber gassers off Craigslist and am in the process of restoring them one at a time. One is a 98' Genesis 1100 3-burner in black. And the other is a 98' Spirit 900 3-burner in red. I'll probably keep one and sell one. They're both in pretty good shape but need extreme cleaning, paint and a couple parts here and there. Both porcelain lids are in good shape. I love the retro look of the grills and the ease of finding parts.

I've never been a great griller and I'm really looking forward to learning how to be better. I know there is a ton of great people and info here. Cheers!

Welcome Rob. It is very satisfying bringing on old Weber up to date. I'm just about done with my Genesis Gold B that will have a red top from an older model. Good folks on here and very helpful. Be sure and post some pics of your projects as well as your cooks.

Welcome to the forum Rob. Would love to see pics of the rehabs. The rehab I did on a Genesis 1000 was very gratifying and we are using it all the time. I think it is better than the new gassers being sold today. Good luck with them and don't be afraid to ask for advice. This forum is great about that and we love to see the rehabs.

Thanks guys. I love reading all the resto threads on here. And they are what what inspired me to buy a classic model and restore it.

Welcome Rob, l'm about 45 min south of you in Bedford Township. The people on this site have a wealth of knowledge and willing to share. Good luck with your restorations.
