Hello from original Summit owner

Hi everyone - bought my Genesis back in the early 1980s and loved it. In about 1999, a local hardware store set up a booth at a bbq festival with ridiculous markdowns on an exorbitantly priced new Weber, the Summit 450. They said there was little market for a gas grill that was priced, iirc, over $1200. Based on the great experience with the Genesis we took the plunge, and it has been by daily driver ever since. Recently I was searching for parts and stumbled on this wonderful board - not sure why it took me so long but I am here now!
