Dear all,
Many thanks for accepting my membership. I am a Londoner, born and raised, and love BBQing.
I began this hobby with a Weber smokey Joe about three years ago. Its small size has not stopped me from catering for eight people at a time! Charcoal cooking was great but after a holiday with a Weber Genesis B, I got the urge to switch. My pal who visited the US of A picked me up a Go-Anywhere Gas Grill - I adapted it to run on UK Propane and this has been truly wonderful. I live in a small flat (apartment) with a private garden, and space is a premium, hence the small BBQs being ideal for me. BUT then I started hosting larger parties, and bite the bullet, buying a used Genesis 1000 - red top. Absolutely love this grill, so much so that another one came available on eBay UK and I snapped it up. My initial Genesis was missing a few bits, so the second become a donor, and wasn't in great condition. I now have a great set up, shiny red top, with full basket at the bottom, and a durawood flip-up work table. The flavorzier bars are new from the donor grill, and the grates are in good condition. The burners are SS so no worries there. A recent pressure wash and whole thing came up brand new. See the attached photos. Have been experimenting with beer can chicken.
My question is this, the flip-up work table seems wonky, the screws aren't tight. Any tips on how to restore this very helpful bit of kit?
Look forward to learning about Weber from this wonderful online community.
