Thanks for the add! I just bought my first Weber, a Spirit E-325. Have only fired it up for the initial "burn off"! Excited to get to cook soon.
When I removed the factory stickers from the lid, the porcelain enamel under the stickers is factory bright and glossy. The surrounding areas are kind of dull and spotted. I've tried several cleaning products and methods, even the 0000 steel wool! I contacted Weber, and they said it's not uncommon to see during the packaging and display at a retailer. Seems like it's more "in" than "on" the finish. Weber is sending me some stainless steel polish to see if that might help. Anyone had a similar experience? Thanks for any ideas! Hi Greg.
Wow, that really stands out doesn’t it ?
I would see about getting an exchange or a price reduction.
If you don’t have that option I would find a section where it’s not right in front of your eyes and experiment with a dab of rubbing compound prior a wax job/application that should blend it all in.
I could be wrong but I don’t think the simple mild abrasives in something like a glass cooktop cleaner will fix this all by itself.
Good luck to ya.
