Long time listener, first-time caller. I live on the North side of Chicago where I brew beer, bbq, and build stuff. I have a WSM and a La Caja China and am currently building a HeterMeter v4.0.
 
I'm a huge fan of the China box; it's essentially a large oven with top loaded charcoal. I roasted 3 pigs last year and it they were a huge hit - I've been loaning out the box to friends since. The construction is put together with commodity hardware you could find mostly at home depot. The parts that would be harder to make is all the sheet metal lining, pans, and grate.

I graduated from high school (in W.A. WI) with an AL KONKOL (however, I think he used an E for his second O in his last name)...
not you, is it Al...?

Alfred was my grandfather's name - from around the menomonee falls area.
