I just wanted to drop in and say Hello. My name is Dave Sammon from the Riverview, FL area.

I just got a One Touch Gold for Father's Day, and Im looking forward to learning a lot and cooking a lot!

Welcome Dave as you will soon find out there is not much that you can't do with a kettle.

Thanks guys!

Bob, this site is the main reason I chose the OTG. I promised my daughter I'd learn to make ribs so now I have no excuses!

Welcome to the forum Dave. The OTG is a very good choice. Let us know how the ribs turn out. What have you cooked on it so far?

Howdy and welcome from another n00b, and sorta, central Floridian..well, north central Fla.<LOL> Speaking of north central Fla. (I brought it up=:-), and noobs, and lists...a little better than 3 years ago I was posting in a straight razor honing forum, specific to using Belgian coticules for honing purposes. I was having a hard time finding my way with the new to me coticule, and razor honing as far as that goes...

Anyways, I noticed another lister who was experienced, stated on his location that he lived in north central Fla. so I contacted him through a PM to ask if he would have me over to his place, to help me with my honing, and thinking he was close by

Turns out he lived in Lake City, about 90 minutes one way, & using interstate to get there. In essence, Lake City Fla. is north central Fla. in that it is north Fla, and central, compared to say JAX and Pensacola<LOL>...latitudes and longitudes

FWIW, we've become good friends over the last several years

Geographically speaking, those of us living between Ocala and Gainesville Fla., we refer to ourselves as living in north central Fla., w/central Fla. universally accepted as being Orlando & environs, and north Fla., anywhere up around the Fla./GA. line...for those wondering what the heck I'm talking about:)

Best,

Jake

Absolutely nothing so far! Picked it up last Saturday, put it together yesterday and plan on lighting it up tomorrow to burn off the grease and factory funk. Soon... :D

Its funny. I went back and forth about mentioning my whereabouts. Im not in Tampa, and not quite central Florida, but no one knows where Riverview is unless youre from Hillsborough County. I figured it was close enough. :)
