Hello all. We were looking on line regarding Weber BBQ's and found this forum. So, we thought this would be the best place to ask advice.

Recently, our Uncle passed away. Back in the late 80's or early 90's, he bought a Weber Genesis 1000. He had every intention to use it. However, he never did. It just sat in the basement for decades.

So, we are wondering what to do with it....??.

Welcome to the forum Wayne. You will find this forum to be very friendly and people here love help. I also have a Genesis 1000 that I rehabbed a few years ago and it is a wonderful grill. My wife uses it more than I do leaving me to grill on the Performer and smoke on the WSM.

As for posting pics, click on the "FAQ" link at the top of the page and you see a topic about posting pics. Just follow the directions and you shouldn't have any problems.

You are going to love using that Genesis 1000. Easy to use and cooks very well. I got mine about 3 years ago from Craigslist and it needed a full rehab and when I was done, it was just like new. Weber still sells replacement parts for these wonderful grills. There are also many threads on the site of peoples rehabs. Given that yours has been sitting in the basement and never use, you shouldn't have any real problems. Once you post pics of it many here can help in any way you need.

Thank you for all the kind words. Chris the moderator is willing to post some pics for us. I guess it's not often a 'time capsule' shows up.
