I just wanted to introduce myself from Ohio I newly graduated from Muskingum College I began grilling when I was younger but I never knew I had a love for it until I began grilling for my frats tailgating parties. It was always great being known as the grill guy. I and my crew grilled for as many as 100 people at a time I loved it. But grilling was too fast and let’s face it everyone grills. Being from the north “ohio” not to many people even know what a smoker is. I knew smoking meat was for me when I went over to a buddy’s house and he was smoking a whole chicken on an old beat up smoker he found in his dad basement. I liked how it was low and slow then I tried the food….. Mind blowing. I went home and did mouths of research including virtual Weber bullet and I picked the Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5. My first smoke I did 2 pork tenderloin covered in bacon, they turned out amazing. During that cook I had 5 neighbors came over that I had never met (if you smoke it they will come). Ha but I have also cooked a 10lb brisket, whole chickens, and 2 huge pork butts. Everything has turned out amazing the only trouble I have had is the skin on the chicken but I got time to work on it !! One day down the road I would like to do BBQ competition for fun with my buddies.

Welcome sir, glad to have you here and look forward to future posts with pictures of the cook from you.

Welcome to the forum! There is only one thing wrong in your picture. Just a friendly reminder, bare feet and
burning charcoal is not a good mix, as the feet will be the losers. Enjoy your WSM!

Welcome G, and you are not the young Buck, I am. LOL And for that rubbery chicken skin, next time smoke it at higher temp and without the water pan
