hello! FNG here...WSM is heating up as I type/


 
Hi all,

My 22.5" WSM is coming up to temp right now...used the minion method with no water in the pan for a 13 lb turkey! Stuffed some applewood chunks among the unlit coals too...

Happy to be a part of the community! I will let you guys know how it turns out!

it turned out GREAT!

This was my first time using the smoker so I had to learn my way around adjusting the vents, etc.

Overall, though, I would say it was a success.

Did the breast overcook?.. the way the skin pulled off the drum stick looks like the dark meat was well done.
 
It may have been a hair overcooked...but nothing major. The thermometer read 168 degrees following a half hour rest after I pulled it off the smoker.
