Hi All,
I just recently replaced my hand-me-down Kenmore unit with a Weber Platinum I with a Green top. The Weber site lists it as a Platinum I 1200. Overall the unit is in great shape and has stainless grates & burner tubes which cleaned up great! I can't tell if my flavourizer bars are stainless or porcelain as they do have some rust in the centers, but the ends appear to be a silver color. Not sure yet, but they are solid and working great. I replaced the propane hose with one to connect to the modern tanks.

Have cooked a few times on it so far and it's working great! Probably next winter I'll take it down and repaint the box and frame, but plan to use as much as possible this summer.

Welcome to the forum Chad, your going to love you Platinum 1200. Looking forward to seeing some cooks and don't forget to take lots of pics. Again Welcome Chad.

Greetings to yet another of our Friendly Illinois Brethren

I trust that you'll learn A LOT here and receive copious amounts of culinary inspiration.

Might be a rough year for those in Sox territory - Cubbies fans seem to think that this is the year to get the monkey off their backs (but then again, they have been saying that for a heckuva' long time and it's NEVER too late for the trusty late season choke...)

I have a brother in Streamwood

Welcome Chad to a great friendly forum. That's a great grill you picked up and there is a lot of restoration info on here for those older Weber gassers. I have a 1000LX I just converted to a 2000LX. Had it since new in 1999, great grill.
