Has anyone installed a different set up for removing ashes from kettle on Ranch Grill? Seems lame that its not made with something on the bottom for removal other than having vent holes for it to fall through. How about a propane egnition for starting lump charcoal? The only inprovement I have made so far is making a 22" stainless circle and quartering it to either bank charcoal on the inside or outside of the ring it works great for the indirect or smoking aspect.

Thanks

Joe

I don't have a ranch..... Maybe someday.

If I had a grand for a ranch I would also invest a hundred in a metal ash vacuum.

Could you use a smokey joe as a charcoal basket between the charcoal grate and the food grate?

Cheap Shop Vac at Harbor Freight. $20.

Weed burner for ignition. $30 at Harbor Freight.

Just make sure the coals are COLD!

to remove ashes from my OLD 26" kettle, I use an industrial size (XXLarge) aluminum dust pan.
I simply bent it into a bowl-shape and it works perfect using a "whisk broom".
